Art Nouveau Gold & Diamond Lion Locket

A beautiful Art Nouveau locket circa 1900 crafted in 14k yellow gold featuring a roaring lion on the front, his open jaws clutching a bright and glittery natural old-cut diamond, approximately .10 ct. A little green glass gem accents his eye.

I love the way the details of the lion's mane flow into the swirl of scrolls that frame his face. The back is skillfully engraved with the monogram initials "M.H.D." 

Available with a fine 18" 14k cable chain as shown, or solo. 

DETAILS: Approximately 15/16" in diameter. It opens to reveal space for two photos and closes with a satisfying snap. The locket weighs approximately 7.4 grams, the chain 4.7 grams. The locket is marked on the inside edge for 14k, the chain is marked for 14k.

CONDITION: In excellent condition with a light antique patina and a slight ding on the monogrammed side which is difficult to notice due to the engraving.
