An elegant pair of Victorian statement earrings circa 1875. Crafted in 14k yellow gold with intricate taille d'épargne or black tracery enamel worked within a hand-milgrained scroll and acanthus leaf motif; each segment is hinged which allows movement so the textured surfaces sparkle as they catch the light.
Measuring approximately 2 2/8" north to south from the top of the ear wire curve to the bottom of the arabesque-shaped drop, and 3/4" east to west at the widest. A dramatic impact with unmistakeable antique caché, their construction makes them comfortably lightweight enough for everyday wear.
In excellent condition with a light patina, but no disfiguring dents, dings or enamel wear. Not marked for metal content but acid test to 14k.
Approximately 6.6 grams total weight for the pair.
