Originally an antique Victorian stick pin circa 1900 featuring a very fine tear-drop cabochon amethyst in a 14k yellow gold bezel, accented by a fiery bright old mine-cut diamond; we converted it to a ring using our own "Sabina" band, a finger-flattering chevron shape that's slim and stackable, creating a sleek modern statement.
Measuring approximately 1/2" north to south, with the band approximately 2.15 mm wide. Currently size 6 3/4 and resizable about two to three full sizes without issue.

Amethyst lore has a rich and varied history. Traditionally the stone is said to bring it's wearer happiness, love, internal peace and spiritual fulfillment. It has been worn to aid in battling the grip of addictions and alcoholism, in fact the origins of it's name are found in the Greek word "amethustos", meaning "sober".
The gemlore behind the stone makes it a wonderful choice as an alternative engagement ring. In essence it fosters the idea that the love it represents is integral to the happiness of the couple thus pledged: together making a fulfilled and well balanced whole.
